Welcome to the Northeast Texas Hunting Retriever ClubWe are affiliated with the United Kennel Club Hunting Retriever Club with membership residing in Tyler, Longview, Marshall and the surrounding area. After recognizing the benefits of hunting with a trained retriever and the benefits of camaraderie among friends, the NETHRC was started in 1996. The purpose of the club is to support and uphold the tenants of the HRC and to educate its membership according to the rules and regulations as stipulated in the HRC rulebook regarding the Hunt Test Sport. This is achieved through informative lectures of guest speakers at our monthly meetings, as well as, at monthly training days. These take place year round, excluding hunting season, and are beneficial to the handler and dog to further equip them in the field. Whatever the desires for your retriever may be, NETHRC is committed to the support of the handler/trainer at that level. To that end, monthly training days are a significant part of realizing goals set forth by the member. Whether the desire is for a well-versed hunting partner or a Finished Hunting Retriever, our club is devoted to the handler/trainer in supplying knowledge, encouragement and support while having fun along the way. And, yes, there is celebration with the hunter/retriever team as successes are realized, titles are won, ducks are retrieved, and days of man and dog are enriched by sweet experiences that become the treasures of a lifetime. MembershipDo you have a retrieving companion that could use a little training? Looking to get involved and participating in hunt tests? Realism is what we are all about! Combine that with the environment of family oriented fun and you’ve found the perfect combination for advancing your field companion and building friendships that traverse the years – and the miles. EventsNETHRC hosts several special events throughout the year. Regular training and sanctioned hunt tests offered in waterfowl and upland hunt settings. Our training days offer the support of other members, some of which are professional dog trainers. This makes them ideal places to get advice and support from experienced members. We also enjoy more “fun” with club Clay Shoots, seminars and clinics, and additional entertainment as our club members elect. HRC members are also welcomed to participate in a variety of events offered by other clubs in our area, region and across the country.
